What does the Availability information mean?

The availability estimate on each item's detail page refers to how long it will take us to acquire the item once you place your order; it does not include time it will take your order to reach you once we ship it. Shipping time depends upon the shipping method you choose. Here is the equation you should use to determine when you will receive your order:

(Availability) + (Shipping Time) = Total Delivery Time

The following is a list of the several types of availability estimates you might see for items in our stores.
  • Usually ships in 24 hours: we expect to be able to prepare this in-stock item for shipment within 24 hours of your order.
  • Usually ships in 2-3 days: we expect to receive the item from a nearby distributor and ship it to you within 2 to 3 days of your order.
  • Usually ships in 1-2 weeks: we expect to receive the item from a distributor and ship it to you within 1 to 2 weeks of your order.
  • Back Ordered: our suppliers are unable to predict when they will have more copies in stock, but we hope to be able to ship it to you within 3 to 5 weeks.
  • Out of Stock: This item is currently not available for ordering. In some cases, if we have reason to believe that we will be receiving more inventory of this item, you can give us your e-mail address and we will notify you when the item is once again available to order.
  • Out of Print: This item is no longer available from the publisher. It is quite possible that you could obtain the item from a used book shop. We recommend you try abebooks.com
Please note that listed availability might not be applicable for multiple copies of an item, and that sudden demand for an item can have an effect on its availability. We will inform you by e-mail if any items in your order prove to be unavailable. If you have not received your order by the estimated delivery date, or if you have not yet placed an order and would like to inquire about the availability of multiple quantities of a particular item, send an e-mail message to orders@centuryone.com or call us at 626-441-2024. We will be happy to assist you.
