![]() Oxford Bible Atlas Edited by Herbert Gordon May with G. N. S. Hunt
Description From The Publisher: The latest edition has been thoroughly revised so as to bring the original work up to date with regard both to biblical scholarship and to archaeology and topography. Thus, in the maps many sites (mostly Palestinian) have been relocated or a query added to indicate the lack of confidence in their identification. The maps indicating the route of the Exodus, New Testaent Jerusalem and Palestinian sites excavated to date have been completely revised. Diacritical points have been added to the spelling of Arabic place names. Moreover, the test of the work dealing with biblical history and archaeology has been reviesed so as to bring it into line with the latest scholarship, for instance with regard to chronology, the Exodus, archaeology and the patriarchs, and New Testament Jerusalem. Various errors and inconsistencies remainging in the earlier edition have also been corrected. New illustrations are included to take the place of those which have become outdated. Reviews This is a standard text for bible professors who wish to provide their students with reliable historical and geographical information in summary while reserving exegesis for thier own lectures.
